At INNERGY DANCE CO., we are dedicated to the education and celebration of hip hop dance and its rich culture. Through our diverse range of classes, engaging community events, and innovative content creation, we aim to inspire individuals of all ages and skill levels to discover their passion for dance. Our mission is to foster a vibrant community where creativity thrives, cultural appreciation grows, and the transformative power of hip hop can be experienced and embraced by everyone. We are committed to preserving the true essence of hip hop while promoting inclusivity and self-expression, ensuring that every dancer feels valued, respected, and empowered in their artistic journey.

The History

Hip hop originated in 1973 in the Bronx, New York, as a cultural movement created by young African Americans and Latinos. It emerged as a way to express identity and address social issues through four key elements: DJing, MCing (rap), breakdancing and graffiti art. Pioneers such as DJ Kool Herc, who innovated DJing techniques at block parties, Afrika Bambaataa, who spread the culture and founded the Universal Zulu Nation, and Grandmaster Flash, who advanced DJing with scratching and mixing, were instrumental in its creation. Influenced by funk, soul and Jamaican music, hip hop quickly grew beyond its roots to become a global phenomenon, shaping music, fashion, art and culture around the world.

UNIFORMS & MERCH

Uniform Policy for Dance Students at INNERGY DANCE CO.
At INNERGY DANCE CO., we have a strict uniform policy for all students enrolled in our dance program. We believe that uniforms are not only a reflection of professionalism but also an integral part of the learning experience. As such, we require all dancers to wear the designated uniform consisting of an INNERGY Tops (Shirts, Hoodies, Tanks etc.) Plain Solid-colored bottoms (Shorts, Sweatpants, Leggings) or any INNERGY Bottoms, and Sneaker. (Contemporary class will be barefoot)

The uniform ensures a sense of unity and discipline amongst our students, allowing our instructors to focus on the technique, form, and alignment without any distractions. It also instills a sense of pride, confidence, and commitment within our dancers, as they understand the importance of taking their training seriously. By adhering to our uniform policy, dancers embrace the discipline and dedication required to excel in their dance journey.
